DOLANJI, INDIA?
You can sponsor
and help Bon Children’s Home in the following ways:

financing the most urgent needs of the children, or for general or specific
projects supporting the Home. BCH will receive 100% of money transferred
by you;
- Become a Karmic
Parent in our Karmic Adoption program ;
- Support our Nyatri
Education Program;
- Support our Nyatri
Medicare Program (under development );
- Support our Family
Reunion Program ;
- Collect and send
directly to BCH clothes, shoes, toys, sleeping bags etc.;
- Support operations
of Nyatri in Poland.
Nyatri Foundation is
100% based on voluntary work. Its operating costs are covered
only with transfers marked by Sponsors as intended
for covering activities of the Foundation, or when we are notified
about such intention by mail or phone.
KARMIC ADOPTION
Karmic Parents can support
one or more children. The cost of supporting a child is
25 USD for BCH school student or 75 USD for college student or
a person studying outside Dolanji.
BCH receives 100% of your donation. The child selected
by you is informed that it has a sponsor, called by Tibetans a
Karmic Parent. Your donation is used to finance basic expenses
such as food, medicare, clothes, toiletries and other similar items.
All donations are pooled together and spent on all
children, sponsored and not sponsored alike - all the children
eat the same food, naturally! The children receive also
pocket money which they can spend as they like, most often on sweets
etc. Donations of Karmic Parents supporting children who study
outside Bon Children’s Home are generally used to cover the
cost of accommodation and direct expenses on education (such as school
tuition). Children are sponsored as long as they are willing to
learn - in this way we motivate children and young people to continue
education in secondary schools and even at colleges and universities.
Children stay in touch with their Karmic Parents by writing letters.
Parents are sending them parcels and photographs; some even visit their
Karmic Kids in Dolanji.
Karmic Adoption is an opportunity to make children happier, more optimistic,
involved in their study and hopeful about their future. It also gives
the sponsors ample opportunity to get in touch with children
under their care by exchanging leters and photographs. On one
hand, a child involved in the program feels happier knowing
that somebody far away, at the other end of the world, supports
it with warm thoughts; on the other hand, the sponsors truly
enjoy friendly relations with their karmic children. Some of the
Karmic Parents have even decided to go to India to visit the Home and
personally meet their Tibetan children. Many children arriving
in BCH are illiterate, and for this reason classes in the
local school group children of various age. Parents of the majority
of BCH children are alive, but all of them suffer dramatic poverty which
is regrettably a common phenomenon in the Himalayas and in Tibet.
Authorities of BCH have hardly any information about the background
of some of their young charges, because the children arrive in groups,
they are very young and hardly remember their homes.
Please be aware that when you decide on Karmic Adoption, you accept
moral and financial responsibility towards the child for many years
to come. In addition to monthly financial support, Karmic Parents
send their children letters, parcels and gifts which increases the basic
cost of sponsorship. When a child enrols in a secondary school
outside Dolanji, the costs of sponsorship increase to 75
USD (this amount can be modified in future). At this stage, the Karmic
Parents are asked about their decision about further sponsoring of their
child. Therefore, when you decide on the Adoption, please consider
not only your good intentions but also your financial standing.
Persons with irregular, unreliable income or without income sources
can help Tibetan children in many other ways, for instance by supporting
numerous programs of the Foundation which cover costs of medical care,
purchases of various items for BCH, funding scholarships
for young people etc.
If you are willing to support the Foundation with money, please transfer
your donation to the following account :

Adoption Programme.
As agreed with authorities
of Bon Children's Home, Nyatri transfers funds to BCH twice a year.
After the receipt, BCH sends to Nyatri official confirmation letters
which are then distributed by Nyatri among all Sponsors. If the

placed on the www site, she will e-mail it directly to Karmic
Parents.

General Information
About Children
- BCH children come
from very poor families.
- BCH children come
from Tibetan Bon families or families of Tibetan origin residing in
Tibet, India, Nepal and Bhutan.
- Their parents sent
them to BCH because they did not have a chance to give them suitable
education and suport.
- Their parents did
not relinquish their parental rights and they hope that their children,
once they grow up and get well educated, will be able to help
their families or communities.
- The children stay
in touch with their families by sending letters every year. After graduating
from school they are obliged to visit their villages. The few
families who can afford it visit their children at BCH and write letters
to them, if possible.
- BCH aims
to maintain, upbring and educate children in compliance with Indian
law and educational system, and Tibetan upbringing, religion and tradition
of Bon (vernacular culture and religion of Tibet).
- After leaving BCH
and coming of age, children go back to their home villages, continue
education or start work (in some instances they work away from their
vilalges).
- Sponsors can
contact their Karmic Children by sending them letters, parcels or meeting
them personally, but they should not awake in their children hopes for
going abroad, give them any messages which stand
in discord with goals and tasks of BCH, and
create any antagonisms among children.
- Sponsors are obliged
to regularly pay the declared amounts and - if possible - get personally
involved in operations of Nyatri Foundation (e.g. assist in finding
Karmic Parents for other children). They are obliged to
notify Nyatri Foundation immediately if they decide to cease sponsoring
a child for financial or other reasons.
- Sponsors accept
the obligation to support their Karmic Children as long as the children
continue education, if the Parent's financial situation allows so. The
children are aware that they receive sponsorship in order to get
as good education and job as possible. When the child finishes
education, the parent ceases to sponsor it.
- Individual Sponsors
are expected to write letters to their children, but please be aware
that children cannot reply too often due to the lack of money.
They write to their Karmic Parents once or twice a year. Sponsors receive
the addresss of BCH after they are approved as Karmic Parents.
