MediCare

Our MediCare Program aims at providing basic medical and dental care for the children of Bon Children's Home. At present, the Home has no medical assistant or nurse to provide elementary health care for the children. The Home lacks basic medicines and wound dressings. The children suffer from fungal infections, colds, infected injuries and other health problems. If some serious disease/injury occurs, the children are taken to the doctor in Solan, but medical consultations there are paid. The cost of consultations and hospital care is as high in India as it is in Poland and it is exorbitant for BCH.

Therefore, we dramatically need your support for our MediCare Program managed by Nyatri. Any donations will be welcome. Please transfer them to the following bank account :

Funds collected within this program shall be used for the following tasks :

1. Purchase in India medicines and wound dressing materials for BCH or cover the cost of transport of products donated in Poland;

2. Cover the cost of medical assistance and dental care, and costs of hospital stays if necessary;

3. Employ a permanent nurse at BCH .

We will be particularly grateful for companies which can offer regular support throughout longer periods of time, or assistance in kind, consisting of :

1. band aid adhesives and bandages ;
2. ointments for faster wound healing ;
3. ointments against fungal infections;
4. ointments against herpes ;
5. medicines for faster healing of burns and scalding ;
6. medicines against fever and pain killers ;
7. personal hygiene items for girls ;
8. multivitamins for children at 5-16 years of age .

A Dentist for Tibetan Children

Nyatri MediCare Program is happy to announce its new action A Dentist for Tibetan Children, arranged in partnership with Mr Bartosz Niedziółka MD.Dent., a dentist from Poznań.

Doctor Bartosz will go to Dolanji with indispensable equipment to provide much needed dental care for children living at Bon Children's Home. While there, he plans to perform the following checks and treatments:

1. General dental checks;
2. Teach how to best brush one's teeth ;
3. Apply sealants to milk teeth ;
4. Apply sealants to permanent molars;
5. Fluoride rinsing (foam, gel);
6. Fill milk teeth;
7. Fill permanent teeth (shallow and medium cavities);
8. Apply ZnOE drug (for deep cavities in permanent teeth);
9. Extract milk teeth ;
10. Perform more complex surgical treatments if necessary (teeth extraction, dental abscess treatment etc.);
11. Remove dental plaque (if time allows).

The doctor is to visit Dolanji in October 2009. If this first trip is successful, we will organise regular visits, to provide systematic dental care for children at BCH.

For this project, we need specialised equipment and your assistance is much needed to provide Doctor Bartosz with all the medicines and tools necessary for his work. You can help us in two ways:
